Create your first Messenger Bot

Step 1: Click on the Messenger Bot tab under the Messenger Tools sidebar section.

Step 2: Select 'Actions' under 'Bot Settings'.

Step 3: Select the appropriate Facebook page in the 'Pages' column.

Step 4: Click on 'Change Settings' under 'Bot Reply Settings'.

Note: For the purpose of this tutorial we've pre-built a basic bot for you. Let's quickly import it and get you started. You can always edit/delete it later and start from scratch if you wish.

Step 5: Continue the import by clicking the 'Data Import' tab under the 'Bot Settings Data' button in the top right.

Step 6: Confirm the 'Basic Bot' template is selected and click the import button in the bottom left.

Step 7: Congratulations! Your bot has now been setup successfully. Feel free to start messaging it through messenger and see what is says :) 

IMPORTANT: If you have any previous bot settings you will receive a warning asking if you want to overwrite all existing settings. If you proceed any existing replies and settings associated with that page will be deleted and are not recoverable.
